Goal: Reveal every safe cell without clicking a mine.

Numbers: A number tells you exactly how many mines are hidden in the 8 cells touching it (sides and corners). A 1 means 1 mine nearby, a 3 means 3 mines nearby, etc.

Blank cells: No number means zero mines nearby — clicking one automatically reveals all its safe neighbors.

Flagging: Right-click (or long-press on mobile) to place a 🚩 flag on a cell you think is a mine. Flags prevent accidental clicks.

Strategy tip: If a number's mine count matches the number of unrevealed neighbors, all of them are mines — flag them! If the count matches flags already placed, all remaining neighbors are safe to reveal.

First click: The first click is always safe — mines are placed after you click so you never start on one.
